Those who know me, know I have been patiently waiting…well, actually I have been ranting about the lack of video email for years! Well now, here it is. This is awesome. For those of you without Gmail, you can still use the solutions I mentioned a few blog posts ago What’s Really Up With Video Email? Check Out My 3 Ways To Say Happy Valentines Day!   or you can make some video and get Gmail…what are you waiting for?

Bijoy Thangaraj, 23, a software engineer from Bangalore, created this winning entry for a contest sponsored by The US State department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and co-sponsored by the Adobe Youth Voices initiative.

The aim of the contest, was to attract new members to the groundbreaking ExchangesConnect social networking site, at connect.state.gov. Since its launch in October 2008, ExchangesConnect has drawn over 8,400 members from 170 countries.

Everyone has a story and a point of view. It’s so cool that tools are available to allow people from all over the world to express themselves creatively.

Maria is a Digital Diva and one of my FAVORITE people in the world. Here she demonstrates how to simply emebd a video “Vidget” into a blog.

Viddler is a great site.

Maria likes the Branding options and speed offered by Viddler.

I like the interactive tagging (commenting). You can click on the little dots on the video player timeline track to see how that function works.

The cool thing about this is that unlike Youtube, Viddler video comments travel with the the video. What does that mean? It means that every time someone embeds Maria’s awesome videos two things happen.
1) More people know that Maria has the support of an active community.
2) More people see me.

It’s video comment luv!

So, I hope along with using the newest Viddler embed features, you’ll give some love to the content creators impressing you enough to watch.
