Welcome back!

Hi Everyone!

I came across this great blog WHY SHOULD YOU USE VIDEO TECHNOLOGY TO PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS? The question asked was: How many of you have tried marketing your website or your business via Youtube or any other Video technology method? Was it a success or a failure?

Well, I’ve been in the video production business for many years and I’ve seen successful campaigns and those that were NOT so successful…DUDS, actually. Why?

Online video marketing is HOT but you can’t just slap up a video and expect the god times to start rolling. Just like blogs and social networking profiles there are many elements that contribute to the success of the venture. Here are a few of considerations to help content creators with the success of their online video campaigns:

#1. The old cliché “Think outside the box,” is a definite plus when it comes to online video marketing. I don’t know who invented the box but for the love of PETE, how many times can any of us watch someone tell us how great their business is from their web cam?

#2. Funny ususally takes the cake in online video viewer ship. Tie a brand or an idea to something or someone funny and you will usually see a good return on your investment.

#3 Celeb ANYTHING. The worlds fascination with this tiny percentage of the poulation is not something that I can admit to fully understanding BUT from a marketing perspective, if you know someone famous (even if it’s just in their niche)…WORK IT!

#4. Controversy. Remember the artist former known as and now known as himself again…Anyway, controversy is by far the hardest thing to pull off but if someone can manage to be controversial and remain likable it can be a huge hit and really good for business.

So, I love that technology is allowing people to explore and get creative. I see huge possibilities for everyone; from online to local business, television networks to independent filmmakers, today is the day to make some video!

New content creators should remember to do some planning and most of all have FUN!
